15 February: Coffee Shop of Week

Tuckshop

Banish from your head any thoughts of school canteen fare; Tuckshop is a choice cut for coffee and antipodean-inspired food. The café fronts the workspaces of White Rabbit Studios, and a large internal window affords a fascinating glimpse into the neighbouring workshop. During the working week the space hums with activity as the studios’ occupants go about their various creative projects. The interior’s exposed brickwork and sculptural furniture are softened by the flowing fonds of numerous potted plants.

Formerly head barista at Nude Espresso, Sam is an experienced hand behind Tuckshop’s La Marzocco Linea coffee machine. Expect perfectly-poured flat whites made with medium-roast espresso from Alchemy Coffee, complemented by filter with guest beans including New Town Coffee. The truffled mushrooms on toast are the highlight of a delectable breakfast and lunch menu, overseen by owner and chef, Magnus Reid. Head to Tuckshop for excellent coffee and food served in a simple, yet inspiring space in the creative heart of Shoreditch.
